After a slow start to the morning (we are on island time now) we headed out for a drive to Haleiwa for a spot of shopping.
We had done our research and found a great place to buy an ukulele from and that one of 2 Patagonia stores was also in Haleiwa.
After finding an amazing Hawaiian made uke - we were starting to get hungry, so decided to head for our favourite shrimp truck Romi's.
After talking it up to the kids we arrived and the line was 30 people deep... I walked to the window to find out what this meant - a 2 hour wait - WAAAAAHHHH!
Being Sunday we decided it had to be a weekend thing so we took off to find another place to eat. Thank goodness we did! We found the most amazing BBQ we have ever eaten.
HI BBQ truck just up the road from Turtle Bay is a must. 30 hour slow cooked meat on rice with homemade baked beans - it was ridiculously good.
After gorging on pulled pork, ribs and brisket we needed to find a beach to go into our meat comas.
We headed back to our hidden little beach and were pleased to find it almost empty, calm and sunny.
The water wasn't as clear as some down the road, but its hard to find calm waters on the North Shore so we were happy.
We all put to use the inflatable ring we found the day before (why didn't we pick up more!).
We arrived home for a lovely sunset from our lani.
