It was a little tricky to find but what a beach! We agreed next time we would try and stay somewhere around here next time we come to Hawaii. The beach was crowded though and there was a couple getting wedding photos the entire time we were there.
By far the clearest water and an amazing view of shore of the 2 islands. Aidan and I spent some time sketching them in my book which was a proud creative mum moment :)
After a decent swim we headed for an amazing vegan place we had found on the internet - 'Ai Love Nalo. Michael and I enjoyed a bowl of delicious vegan food, a rarity in Hawaii.
After we refuelled we jumped back in the car and went in search of a beach we had stopped at 8 years ago Makapu‘u Tidepools. We found it too and it had lots of great little rock pools for the kids the potter around in and look at the angle fish. Ollie found a crab too which he was pretty excited about.
Further down the road we stopped at another beach with a great lookout - Makapu'u Beach.
Michael had read about an 'easy' walk to a lighthouse not far up the road, so we all put on our runners and started out on the walk. It was a little harder and steeper than expected but the view from the top was worth it across the whole bay we had just been at throughout the day.
One last stop at the Halona Blowhole before we headed back to the North Shore.
